Gantt Screens

You can add a Gantt Screen over the top of any Table in your Project.

With a Gantt Screen, you can visualise the schedule of your Records over time. It allows your Users to see at a glance where activities and tasks may overlap and how long they will take.

Adding Gantt Screen

Configuring Gantt Screens

Firstly, you must choose which Table contains the Records that you would like to show on the Gantt Screen. Set this in the Select Table field.

You can then choose which Fields from that Table are used to determine the start and end dates of the Blocks on the Gantt Screen. Set these in the Select Start Date and Select End Date fields.

TIP

Since all Gantt Blocks need a start and end date to be able to be shown on the screen, consider making the Fields for the start and end dates required by configuring the Field Settings on the Table.

Choose which Field from the Table should be shown on the Gantt Block in the Select Gantt Title field.

All the required information for the Gantt Screen has now been specified and you can click Save to create the new Screen.

NOTE

You can toggle visibility of the new Gantt Screen for your Users by clicking the eye icon in the navigation bar.

Grouping Gantt Records by Parent

If the Table that you selected for your Gantt Screen has a Parent Table linked, then you can optionally choose to group each of the Gantt Records by their Parent.

For example, if you have a Companies Table that has a child Projects Table this means that a Company can have many Projects. If you create a Gantt Screen to show Projects, you can group the Projects by the Parent Company.

Choose the Parent to group by in the Group by Parent field.

Gantt Group by Parent

You can see in the preview that each of the Projects has been grouped by the Company that the Project is for.

Configuring Additional Fields on Gantt Screens

A title is required to be specified for a Gantt Block. You can optionally choose to show additional fields against each row on the Gantt Screen.

To configure additional Fields to show, select them in the Select Display Fields dropdown.

Gantt Additional Fields

These additional Fields will show in the left hand panel against each Record in the Gantt Screen.

You can also configure additional Fields for the Parent Records if you have selected to group the Gantt Screen by Parents. This is configured in the Select Parent Display Fields dropdown.

Configuring Colours on Gantt Screens

To help your Users understand the data at a glance, you can optionally select to colour code the Gantt Blocks.

You can choose to colour code each of the Blocks based on a List Field, a User Field, or a Group Field on the Table.

Firstly choose the Field Type form the Colour Settings field. Then choose the Field in the Select Field section.

You can see in the preview that each of the Projects has been colour coded based on the Status of the Project.

Configuring Filter Fields for Gantt Screens

You can create Saved Filters for your Gantt Screens, as well as letting users filter the Records on an ad hoc basis.

You can choose which Fields from the Table that users can filter the Gantt Blocks by.

To add Fields to the filter options for a Gantt Screen, select them in the Select Filter Fields section.
